Many vehicles on the road now have advanced driver-assistance systems — lane keeping, adaptive cruise, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring — that rely on cameras and radar sensors aimed precisely at the road. Any work that changes the car's geometry means those sensors need recalibrating, and that takes specialist equipment and expertise.
When ADAS calibration is needed
- After a windscreen replacement, where the forward-facing camera is mounted
- After wheel alignment or a geometry check
- After suspension or steering component replacement
- After any accident repair, front bumper or grille work where a radar sits
- When an ADAS warning light is on, or a system has switched itself off
Why it matters
A camera a fraction of a degree out reads the road wrongly. Systems that are meant to keep you in lane or stop the car may react late, or not at all. Manufacturers and insurers require recalibration after this kind of work, and we carry out both static (target-board) and dynamic (road) calibration to the manufacturer's procedure.
