A modern brake system is made up of several components, any of which can wear or fail over time. If you notice any of the signs below, bring the car in and we'll check the whole system. Signs your brakes need attention
- A brake-pad warning light — an obvious sign a pad is worn, though not every car has one
- A loud screeching or grinding — very likely to mean the pads have worn out
- Pulling to one side — the pads on one side may have worn out, causing an imbalance
- Vibration through the pedal — the pads may have warped from heat, or the discs are damaged
- A soft or spongy pedal — often old fluid or air in the system, and worth checking straight away
