Unlike a petrol or diesel car, an electric car is driven by energy stored in a rechargeable battery. That brings real benefits — no tailpipe emissions, instant acceleration and good traction — and, with far fewer moving parts, less to maintain. But what does need doing has to be done by someone trained to work safely on a high-voltage system.
Our technicians are Level 3 qualified in electric vehicle repair and servicing (Level 4 pending), so we can carry out all aspects of EV servicing, repairs and MOT testing at our Tonbridge workshop. We're also HEVRA members — the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance — so you get dealer-level care at independent prices.
What an EV service covers
- Brake fluid change — regenerative braking means the friction brakes work less and corrode more
- Cabin (pollen) filter and any coolant checks the manufacturer specifies
- High-voltage battery health report and charging system check
- Tyres, suspension and steering — EVs are heavy and hard on them
- Software updates and fault-code scan where the manufacturer's tooling allows
